Overall colour sheme:

Front cover:
The Background colour of the front cover:

As you can see here, there are two different shades of grey, above and to the right . The background colour for the front cover is going to be a contrast of the two shades of grey, it is going to be darker at the top and as you go down the page it gets lighter, this will work very efficiently, as the dark grey colour on the top will work with the sky line which will be the colour white.

Black: Most of the cover-lines in the front cover will be black.
White: Some of the cover-lines in the front cover will be white also, the title will be white. Also, the font colour for the contents page will be in white as it goes well with a dark shade grey for the background.

Contents & DPS:
In the contents page; white and black will be used as a font colour for the contents and the page numbers beside it. It will be organised so that it is attractive and eye catching. Also for the double page spread as well.

THE OVERALL MAGAZINE COLOUR SCHEME FOR MY MAGAZINE ISSUE

LIGHT GREY, DARK GREY, BLACK AND WHITE.

These are the overall colours I will be using in my magazine, for my front page, double-paged-article and contents page. Also, a bit of red and yellow here and there in the front cover, this is so that the readers get grabbed into the important and eye-catching parts of the front cover whether it be a cover-line or a splash.

Model Profile:

MAIN Character Profile (FRONT COVER, CONTENTS&DPS):

Samira is one of my friends that I have known throughout high school and we have remained friends. I chose Samira to be my model for my main music magazine project because; I know she is reliable and consistent and as she does other coursework subjects. Furthermore, she knows how important this is to me. I have decided to make her ‘star name’ or artist name; ‘Jada Louis’ as this sounds more like an R&B artist star name.

Jada Louis is a female with a passion for pop and r&b music. As a songwriter herself she can appreciate the passion that is put into R&B music, her IPod alone is stocked with hundreds of r&b and rap music. She enjoys listening to a variety of artists such as; Chris brown, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Pitbull, Akon, drake, ect.

Also, as she is an African-American teenaged girl, she conforms the stereotype as the huge majority of people who are R&B artists are African-American. Also, to get a youthful, young face will attract the right sort of readers that this magazine is looking for. Furthermore, for the front cover she will have something purple to create this 'sexy' look, this will be for the front cover. Also, she will be wearing chains to create this R&B look / feel.

DPS clothing ideas:

As you can see from this picture; Rhianna a R&B artist is wearing a beanie bat with a gold chain. These props are more likely to be in the front cover or the double paged spread. Therefore, I made this image of the chain, beanie hat and the sporty baggy top for the double page spread as it is more of a R&B look. Also, I'm going to make the model of the double page spread have her hair medium length and strong as shown in this image, this looks nice as the beanie hat goes with the medium hair as you can see in this photograph of Rhianna.

Plan: Potential DPS layout

ROUGH TEMPLATE OF DPS:

Many music magazines have the image on the double paged article on the left, by having my main image for the double page spread on the left it conforms the principle of a R&B music magazine double page article. Also, I will include a quotation by the character I have created 'Jada Louis', this quotation will include Jada Louis talking about some music related things.

Furthermore, I have the name of the music artist in big so that is the main focus and also, the image as well as Jada Louis will be doing a powerful pose. Similarly, by having the image in a slightly large font, it makes all the readers attention focuses on her, with a pose like she's higher than everyone. Also, I have included a putt-out quote in the near middle of the text on the double-page spread as this is mainly used in many magazines whether it be fashion, lifestyle, music ect, they all include a pull-out quote, because; this attracts the reader in more as it is a direct quote from the music artist 'Jada Louis'.
